Therianthropy is the permanent, involuntary state of being a non-human animal on a non-physical, core level. You can cite spiritual reasons such as reincarnation for this state or psychological reasons such as unconscious defense mechanisms. Most therians experience things called "shifts", in which they feel more like their theriotypes. Not all therians experience shifts as some are always in a partial or fully integrated state of human & animal. Shifts can be mental (in which the mindset changes to incorporate features of the theriotype's behavior & urges), dream (in which someone dreams they are their theriotype), phantom (in which someone experience supernumery phantom limbs), and sometimes even shifts to animals that aren't one's theriotype (cameos).
I don't know, are you? That's the thing no one can tell you if you are or aren't. Only you can really figure out if what you're feeling is related to therianthropy. People can try to help you out but they aren't going to know you like you know you. Pay attention to yourself. Question yourself. Ignore it all entirely and live your life and see what comes up and then research what you got, if anything (this is the method I used)!
Disclaimer: Some people will say you aren't a therian if you found the community first because it could be shifter's disease (a short-lived "disease" in which someone thinks they're a therian and misinterprets normal everyday occurences as therianthropy). This isn't necessarily true for everyone who finds the community first before awakening but you should question yourself ever harder if that's the case.
